Luck?

Today, my younger cousins came in to celebrate my brother’s belated birthday. As I saw them run around my restaurant, I started thinking. My luck is absolutely ridiculous… I had a flashback: it was many years ago, when the same younger cousins were at my house, running around in my back yard, they were watering plants, and were just acting like they just got out of a prison…. They ran up to me and said I was so lucky to have a backyard to run around in. Back then, I was too young to understand what they meant. 

I crossed a busy street my myself before I could even walk and I got out without a scratch. I got boiling water knocked onto my body and left with a few burn marks that aren’t easily visible. 

I got put into a private school and learned discipline at a very young age. I was placed into a test prep class and grinded my way into Staten Island Technical High School. I met an absolutely amazing person who turned my life in the right direction. I’ve made so many more great friends that I could possibly imagine. My life was like a Pachinko machine, I rolled and bumped my way through many obstacles, and I finally landed with God. 

I have/had a small group with guys that I have very close to my heart. [If you’re reading this Ahnmin, I just want you to know that I love our SG and like the guys suggested, I want to have you as our leader for the rest of our lives xD]

I have parents who love and care for me. I have friends who are always there for me. I’m in an amazing university in an amazing city. I have the “perfect” dorm with a very nice roommate. I have a mini fridge and soon a microwave. I had a very pleasant transition into the college life, thanks to some lovely friends I made at orientation. 

There are so many I’s that its starting to sound like I’m showing off. I am showing off, but it’s not my absurdly awesome luck, its God who blessed me with so much. I can’t believe I couldn’t see how much God has loved me since the beginning. Thank you for everything and I hope to continue to pursue you and live my life for you!
